I can’t co-sign on this video. Unless, I’m misunderstanding something the rapper is criticizing other artists for talking about shooting each other, but then proceeds to produce a video calling for lynching as an option for dealing with other Black people. Lynching is a very serious crime and one that was used to oppress African-Americans for well over a century in this country. It was also a crime that entrapped African-Americans to turn on their own in order to save their lives. Thus, for someone to use the term and prescribe it as an option to dealing with other Black folk is way beyond reckless, provocative marketing, it’s heresy. This rapper is as guilty as Michael Richards and needs to seriously reconsider how he tries delivering his message.

I’m pretty sure NYOIL doesn’t want us to literally lynch certain artists because of their music. I think he’s trying to send out the message that what these artists are doing is incredibly irresponsible and they should be ashamed for the messages they are putting out. These artists pretty much spit in the face of all the Blacks that died so that our generation of Blacks can have access to quality education and basic human rights. He’s speaking metaphorically and I think the video and song is pretty powerful.
